Meet the Team @ Handy Compact Tractors and Machinery
The Handy family have been farming at West end farm for more than 55 years providing us with the experience and a good insight into what our customer needs maybe.
Find out a bit more about our key team members:
Phil Handy, Managing Director
You will often speak to Phil on the phone answering your enquires. You see Phil delivering and collecting machinery, carrying out mechanical repairs and servicing as well as general farm work.
Fun fact “I onced managed to get alot of paint in my hair and had to shave my head bald, my Fiance was NOT happy.”
Martin & Debbie Handy, Farmers
Martin and Debbie are the 2nd generation to be farming at West End Farm after John and Jill Handy (the first generation), They both contribute a wealth of knowledge within the agricultural and equine industrie helping us to understand and provide recomendations to our customers for using machinery and maintaining their own property.
You will often see Martin and Debbie delivering and collecting machinery and carrying out farm duties at our yard.
Fun facts, Martin “I am soo commited to checking on my cattle that once I had to check on a cow in the early hours of the morning and turned a light on in our cattle shed which inturn set off our cockerel crowing in the garden and he then set off all the other cockerels crowing in the neighbourhood.”
Debbie “I’m constantly keeping the guys in check and filled up with plenty of cakes, biscuits, teas and coffee and looking after the multiple dogs in our family.”
Rob Scruse, Agricultural engineer
Rob joined our team in July 2022, Rob brought a wealth of knowledge with him to Handy compact tractors ltd with experience in engineering and from a farming background giving him a good understanding in the agricultural industry and mechanics in general.
You will often see Rob carrying out repairs and servicing work both on site and in our fully equipped workshop.
Fun Fact: Rob enjoys socializing and travelling in his spare time, he recently had a 3-year trip in New Zealand working on various farms.
Mark Bray, Agricultural Welder & Fabricator
Mark joined our team in October 2022, Mark brought a wealth of knowledge with him to Handy compact tractors ltd with past welding and fabrication experience and a good understanding in the agriculture making him a valuable asset to the business.
You will often see Mark carrying out welding and fabrication work both on site and in our fully equipped workshop.
Fun fact: Mark enjoys adrenaline pumping sports outside of work, he has been skiing, snowboarding and indoor sky diving, he also used to do endurance racing.
